Albert Street Lecture Series

Our ‘Albert Street Lecture Series’ presents quarterly lectures held and recorded from the Albert Street Uniting Church. These lectures serve the Queensland community of the Uniting Church in Australia and allow space for public theological reflection as we think together about the past and future of the UCA and critical issues of our time.

The cooperative invites you to join us on Thursday 16 June at 7pm for the next lecture in our Series.
We are pleased to have President Rev Sharon Hollis present to us. Sharon is President of the UCA and her Lecture is titled “A Year On: A President Reflects”.

From President Rev Sharon Hollis: This lecture, to be given almost a year after I started as President, will reflect on what I am noticing about the Uniting Church that I think we need to pay attention to. In the lecture, I will discuss the recent reconvened Assembly and the key issues for the Uniting Church emerging from the Assembly. Among the issues I will reflect on are consensus decision making, how it is shaping the Uniting Church and how we might continue to develop the spirituality and gifts for consensus decision making, and the challenge of living in Covenant with Congress which requires the Church to confront its racism.

Please register to attend in-person. The Lecture will also be livestreamed to our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/8kRr95h–0w

If you wish to join in via the livestream, there is no need to register.
